Initial Ideas!

I have two ideas i am keen on doing, they are:

  1. A game where you have to complete other games to move on through the game. simular to the saw films but it would not be a horror, it would be a murder mystery so you have to complete the games to find out who the murder is or how they died.
  2. The second idea is where you are a prisoner and you have been put in prison for a murder you havenot committed and you have to break out of prison using different escape routes, some routes get you out whilst others send you back to prison.

This game is a brand new interactive game from plastation 3. its incrediable you an use and interact with everything on the game, you can customise everything and create your own levels. the idea of the game is to get through the levels using items to by pass obsticals . The first video shows the customisation side to the game and the second video is a TV trailer for a level the cullen family have created. at the end of the the trailer it says, ‘Play with everything’, this shows how interactive this game is as everything you see is interactive.

In the last lecture we was told to think about the following questions…

1) What are the techniques that the artists of antiquity used to create illusional spaces?

2) What relationship do these techniques have to the culture in which they are created? Do they work?

After looking at some flash links on Mez’s blog, i came along one which gave me some great ideas of what i want to do. It was the LaLuna Hotel flash link where you have to do mini games to go onto the next stage. This idea made me think of the ‘saw’ films where to live they have to do the games and make it to the next stage untill the end.

My interactive game will not be gory like ‘Saw’ but it will have games within the game so they can reach the next stage and then eventually finish the game.

The reason why i choose to do Interactive media is down to a couple of reasons. im quiet a big fan of computer games (just like every lad) and always have been since i had an old school sega megadrive. i wanted to create abit of interactive media for a computer game, i have recently been pursuaded by Craig to get an X-box 360 and this has influenced me on what i want to do, games like Halo, Gears of War and Call of duty which are all interactive action games is what i would like to produce. The brand new Call Of Duty ‘world at war’ is a great interactive game, as you are one soldier within a war and you have to decide where you go and what you do.

When i was younger i was a major Arsenal fan and still am, but when i was a young lad, i was inspired by my hero, Ian Wright. He is an absolute Arsenal legend and he inspired me to play the game and keep playing it still.
